Happy Easter

We had a great first Easter with Beau this year. We went to the 7:45 service with my Mom at Church. It was wonderful! Then we ate lunch with Rodney's parents. Then, we had Easter dinner with my family. Beau got several Easter baskets and lots of toys (but Rodney and I did not get any pictures)

Easter weekend wrapped up the end of my spring break with Beau. I had such a great time being home with him for a week. We got to catch up with friends, play, and run lots of errands. My two new favorite things that Beau does are (1) climb over anyone and anything (including his Dad) to crawl to Mom ....this may get annoying later, but I could not get enough of it over spring break! (2)when he is riding in the car, he reads (holds) his book and turns the pages....he looks like a little man...so cute!

On Monday, I returned back to work. When I pulled out of the garage and looked in the rear view mirror and saw Beau's empty car seat....with no little man reading a book...I cried the whole way to school! But, I pulled it together and made it through the day.....Only 8 more weeks for me to teach and then I will be able to be with Beau all day. This has definitely been the hardest season of our lives so far. Working outside the home full time, even though we have great babysitters (the grandmothers) has been challenging. The Lord has been so faithful to watch over us, provide for us, and protect us during this time. We are just so thankful it is almost over!

Beau and The Easter Bunny

On the go!

Beau has now mastered the art of crawling. He has a fast crawl when he really wants something...usually the remote control or cell phone that he is not supposed to have. He also just has a normal, everyday crawl when he wants to go somewhere around the house. He is also pulling up on everything so that he can stand up. He is no longer content to sit in the exersaucer or jumperoo because he has to remain stationary. He wants to be on the go all the time! We are having so much fun with him at this stage. But, because of his new found independence, we need to start babyproofing the house. I did not realize this until yesterday when he stood up in our bathroom and opened Rodney's cabinets...Beau started pulling out shaving cream, razor cartridges, tried to pull out the razor....I had to think quick and pulled out a rubberband and tied it around the 2 knobs for a quick fix. Looks like we need to make a trip to the store for babyproofing gear!

Here are a few pictures of the last few weeks...

Eating his first biter biscuit...he loved it, but we had to bathe him after he got finished eating it

This is from when Beau had his ear infection and it hurt him to lay down for long periods of time...he and Daddy look so sweet!

Looks a little dangerous...but, he made it up several stairs with Daddy right by him just in case

Playing With Easter Basket

Beau got an early easter basket from his Nona King. He had a great time playing with the eggs in the front yard on Sunday morning when he woke up from his nap.

Birthday Party

Happy Birthday Harrison! Our friends, Jenn and Craig's little boy Harrison had his 2 year old birthday party on Saturday at McDonald's. The kids had a great time playing in the playground and snacking on birthday food. Beau was not big enough to play on the playground, but he loved watching the kids play. He also loved chewing on the birday hat as you can see....Too funny!!

New Blogs of Interest

We added 2 new blogs to our list of blogs today. They are both sites that I used to go to the Allen's blog and click on every day. Finally, Rodney suggested that I just add them to our site because we view them so frequently. :o)

The 1st one is a blog, A Small Rock Trying To Make a Big Splash, is of a woman that goes to our church. We do not know her personally, but find her blog very interesting and thought provoking. So, that is why we added it. The 2nd blog is of our Pastor. We will forever be grateful to Pastor Chris and Tammy for following the Lord and leaving everything to come plant our Church. They planted our Church in 2001, Rodney got saved at our Church in 2002, Rodney and I met at our Church in 2003, and since then we have made tons of great friends that are like family to us. We had the extreme pleasure of being in a small group with Pastor Chris and Tammy in the fall, and we learned so much. Through their group, we actually realized I longed to be a stay at home Mom....and through much prayer and the Lord's favor, we found a way to fix our budget so that that my longing could be fulfilled....only 9 more weeks to go until school is out and Beau and I can play all day!!!

Hope you enjoy the new blogs!

Update

We have all recovered from Beau's ear infection. :o) He feels great, except for the teeth (2-4) that he is apparently cutting. We have become huge fans of teething tablets and teething gel from Whole Foods.

We have lowered his mattress to the lowest it can go because we came in too many mornings to see something like the below picture and I thought he was too close to climbing out!

Beau has also learned to crawl....and is working on standing up. He has probably known how to crawl for longer than we think because one morning we were getting ready for work, and Beau was playing on our bed. I put the remote control down on the bed and Beau effortlessly crawled to it and put it in his mouth. He loves to crawl around upstairs on the carpet, but does okay on the hardwoods too. We also let him play in his first big boy toy this week....the car. He LOVES it!! He sits on it and puts his feet down to move it all around. He also tries to stand up on it and do tricks....I am wondering if he is going to be into extreme sports when he is older...because he has no fear!

Here are a few pictures of the last few weeks.....
