On the go!

Beau has now mastered the art of crawling. He has a fast crawl when he really wants something...usually the remote control or cell phone that he is not supposed to have. He also just has a normal, everyday crawl when he wants to go somewhere around the house. He is also pulling up on everything so that he can stand up. He is no longer content to sit in the exersaucer or jumperoo because he has to remain stationary. He wants to be on the go all the time! We are having so much fun with him at this stage. But, because of his new found independence, we need to start babyproofing the house. I did not realize this until yesterday when he stood up in our bathroom and opened Rodney's cabinets...Beau started pulling out shaving cream, razor cartridges, tried to pull out the razor....I had to think quick and pulled out a rubberband and tied it around the 2 knobs for a quick fix. Looks like we need to make a trip to the store for babyproofing gear!

Here are a few pictures of the last few weeks...

Eating his first biter biscuit...he loved it, but we had to bathe him after he got finished eating it

This is from when Beau had his ear infection and it hurt him to lay down for long periods of time...he and Daddy look so sweet!

Looks a little dangerous...but, he made it up several stairs with Daddy right by him just in case

Playing With Easter Basket

Beau got an early easter basket from his Nona King. He had a great time playing with the eggs in the front yard on Sunday morning when he woke up from his nap.

Birthday Party

Happy Birthday Harrison! Our friends, Jenn and Craig's little boy Harrison had his 2 year old birthday party on Saturday at McDonald's. The kids had a great time playing in the playground and snacking on birthday food. Beau was not big enough to play on the playground, but he loved watching the kids play. He also loved chewing on the birday hat as you can see....Too funny!!

New Blogs of Interest

We added 2 new blogs to our list of blogs today. They are both sites that I used to go to the Allen's blog and click on every day. Finally, Rodney suggested that I just add them to our site because we view them so frequently. :o)

The 1st one is a blog, A Small Rock Trying To Make a Big Splash, is of a woman that goes to our church. We do not know her personally, but find her blog very interesting and thought provoking. So, that is why we added it. The 2nd blog is of our Pastor. We will forever be grateful to Pastor Chris and Tammy for following the Lord and leaving everything to come plant our Church. They planted our Church in 2001, Rodney got saved at our Church in 2002, Rodney and I met at our Church in 2003, and since then we have made tons of great friends that are like family to us. We had the extreme pleasure of being in a small group with Pastor Chris and Tammy in the fall, and we learned so much. Through their group, we actually realized I longed to be a stay at home Mom....and through much prayer and the Lord's favor, we found a way to fix our budget so that that my longing could be fulfilled....only 9 more weeks to go until school is out and Beau and I can play all day!!!

Hope you enjoy the new blogs!

Update

We have all recovered from Beau's ear infection. :o) He feels great, except for the teeth (2-4) that he is apparently cutting. We have become huge fans of teething tablets and teething gel from Whole Foods.

We have lowered his mattress to the lowest it can go because we came in too many mornings to see something like the below picture and I thought he was too close to climbing out!

Beau has also learned to crawl....and is working on standing up. He has probably known how to crawl for longer than we think because one morning we were getting ready for work, and Beau was playing on our bed. I put the remote control down on the bed and Beau effortlessly crawled to it and put it in his mouth. He loves to crawl around upstairs on the carpet, but does okay on the hardwoods too. We also let him play in his first big boy toy this week....the car. He LOVES it!! He sits on it and puts his feet down to move it all around. He also tries to stand up on it and do tricks....I am wondering if he is going to be into extreme sports when he is older...because he has no fear!

Here are a few pictures of the last few weeks.....

What a weekend!

We had a busy weekend! Friday night Rodney and I took Beau to the mall to go to dinner. We normally don't venture out on Friday's because we are tired from the work week. Beau LOVED being strolled through the mall by his Dad. He checked out all the people and did not care that we ate dinner 30 minutes past his normal meal time. If we were at home....he would have been screaming! Beau is very mild mannered most of the time, but especially in public.....he loves to check out everyone and everything.

Saturday we went to Jeremiah's 1st birthday party. He and Beau rode in a little red wagon in the Day's front yard. Beau was holding on to the sides of the wagon for dear life. It was hilarious! That night we said goodbye to our friends the Mills. They have a son, Parker, who was born 2 months before Beau. They are moving to Texas to help with a church plant. Beau had a pretty good time at the party, but was starting to get a little fussy. So, we loaded him up in the car and came home. We woke up to him screaming his head off around 1 am. We could not calm him down at all.....it was so scary. Finally, around 3 am he fell back asleep. Sunday was filled with times of fussiness as well. Rodney took Beau to the doctor Monday morning and Beau has his 1st ( and hopefully last!) ear infection. He has handled it pretty well, but the screams of pain have definitely hurt our hearts(and ears!). Even through the pain, he still is a sweet baby who loves to scoot around on the floor and play all the time!

Beau and James hanging out at the birthday party....it looks like James is telling Beau something that Beau can't believe!
On a side note....I found this picture and thought it was too funny....this is a picture of a small group we were in a few summers ago. So many of the friends we made in this group are our good friends now. In the picture, there are 3 babies. Now this same group has 8 more babies and 4 on the way (that I know of!)

Scooting Around

The past 2 weeks Beau has learned how to scoot acound the house. He has not quite gotten the hang of crawling....the whole getting up on the knees move throws him off....but he has mastered the art of scooting around. He has also been watching Mom do her Billy Blanks workouts some and can do a baby push up....no joke! I tried to get a picture, but he can not hold his push up for very long yet.

We had such a fun weekend together. Dad took the day off Friday to be with Beau. Normally when I leave for work, Beau will whine or fuss (so sad for me to hear!), but Friday I told him bye and that I loved him and he just gave me this look....like go on Mom, I get to play with Dad all day! They had a great time that day and that night because Mom went to her school's beauty pageant. 3 of the girls in Mom's class placed in the pageant. When asked what they liked most about school, one of the little girls said she liked her teacher, Mrs. King, the most....too sweet!

Then on Saturday, we celebrated cousin Blake's birthday at the bowling alley. Beau was in heaven with all the people to look at and all the attention he got there! The rest of the weekend we have spent playing with Beau. He is so much fun!

Here are some pictures of him scooting around......

Rocking on his knees in his pack n play

Love the look of determination

His favorite toy was the orange one, once he got it.

After all the scooting around, Beau decided to relax for a stroller ride around the neighborhood. He loves to chew on the sippy cup, but when water actually comes out of it, he has a surprised look on his face and he spits it out. Oh well!
