Snow!!!

Beau was taking a morning nap through much of the snow yesterday, but after lunch he did get to outside to play in it for a little while....

Touching the snow and then realizing it was cold

Loving sitting in the snow

Excited about the snow!!

Nona and Papa C came down (8 houses down) to see Beau's first snow

Just Having Fun

We have just been playing and having a great time with Beau. Below are a few pictures of what we have been up to........
Riding in the grocery cart like a big boy! He loves to ride this way because he can turn and check out everything and everyone!

Trying to stand up....lasted for a few seconds

We had dinner with Emily and Jim and Scott and MV and their boys for Emily's birthday. Beau was playing with Jim and then got worn out.

Chewing on my AU sippy cup....he loves to play with sippy cups, but has not mastered how to drink water from them yet.

We ate dinner with Lindsey and Derek and Beau was checking out their son, Parker... Parker went to bed and Beau was getting ready for bed, but was loving playing with all of Parker's toys.

You may not be able to tell from this picture, but Beau wakes up with a mowhawk or crazy hair after every nap. It is too cute!!

A Few of My Favorite Things

These are a few of Beau's new favorite things.....

Pack N Play time....He can sit it in and play and look out the window into the backyard. Most of the time after 10 minutes or so, I find him laying down trying to eat the pack n play......but, in this picture he is eating the blocks that cousin Rachel gave him for Christmas

The Musical table that Aunt Betsy gave him for Christmas. He loves to spin the turtle on the corner because it makes a noise and the center spins. He likes to spin it over, and over, and over, and over!

Teething bracelets! His Grandparents gave him teething bracelets for Mom to wear from Smith's Variety store....He would rather just have them and chew on them himself.

Sleeping on my tummy!!!
I was the Mom who tried to followed every rule in "Babywise" and every rule our Pediatrician told us we needed to follow....It may be the teacher in me that doesn't want to break the rules....Anyway, I never let Beau sleep on his belly even though he was not a good sleeper on his back.....Now that he can roll over he definitely prefers his belly, and he sleeps sooooooooo much better on it!

Beau does not however love the holidays...well the night after the holiday that is....Most of the time, Beau sleeps 10-11 hours straight at night, but so far here is our record for the holiday nights....
Thanksgiving....woke up screaming that night....the reason, he was hungry and ready for baby food
Christmas Eve....woke up screaming that night...the reason, Santa coming through on the fire truck late at night
Christmas Night...woke up screaming that night...the reason, Cutting a tooth
New Year's Eve....was screaming that night at The Allen's house...the reason, night terror(he doesn't have these often, but when he does they are scary!)
We are hoping he breaks the trend on Valentine's Day and has a great night sleep that night!!!!

Update

Beau has only been able to play with 2 of his big toys that he got for Christmas. We are saving the rest for him to play with when he gets tired of these toys. Also, we are downsizing to a sweet, tiny house and don't have room to have all of the toys out at one time. We are downsizing so that I can stay at home with Beau after May when I finish teaching my 5th graders. This Christmas break has been great so far and it makes me look even more forward to the days when I no longer have to work.....Even if this break has been filled with 2 baby teeth coming in, Beau having a cold, Beau passing his cold to Mom, and Santa coming through our neighborhood on a fire truck Christmas Eve night at 10:45 pm! Beau was not a fan of that at all!!

As of yesterday, we are the proud owners of 2 homes....once again! This is the 3rd home we have owned in the year 2007. Sounds crazy, but we decided to sell our townhouse to upgrade to a family home, then I realized I wanted to stay at home with Beau, so we downsized to a smaller family home. We are praying that our current house sells soon, and then we will move into our new home.

Here are a few pictures of Beau playing with his new toys:

Beau and the learning puppy

Beau and the Shape and Sort Cookie Jar....He just likes to try to dump everything out of the cookie jar right now.....

Beau's favorite bath toy.....Mr. Duckie....not new but he just learned how to put Mr. Duckie's head in his mouth!
Love the blue eyes and long eyelashes!!

Merry Christmas

Today was Beau's first Christmas.....to him it was pretty much like any other day. He loved seeing all the family and getting new presents too. Too us, this Christmas took on a whole new meaning. Having a child changes your perspective on so many things, one of them is understanding on a new level how much God loves us. There were many nights when Beau was a newborn when he woke up crying in the middle of the night. We would go and rock him and while we were doing that, I would look at a picture that was hanging up in our hallway of Jesus. It is a picture that Rodney gave me as his wedding gift to me....it is "Smiling Jesus" that a man in our church painted a few years ago. Looking at that picture always gives me comfort knowing that Jesus is right here with us and that the Lord is watching out over us. But, holding our son, looking at that picture, I could not imagine how much the Lord loved His son, but loved us even more to give up His son for us. This Christmas we are so thankful for our son, family, friends, church, and for our Savior.

Here are a few pics of Christmas morning......
In his new bouncer because his newborn one was too small
With my Dad
Beau now has lots of new toys and clothes to play with. He also had his first taste of wrapping paper at Aunt Betsy's house. We were opening gifts and Rodney put his finger in Beau's mouth and pulled wrapping paper off the roof of his mouth. Yummy! Beau must have asked Santa for his 2 bottom teeth for Christmas because he had the first one and is currently working on the 2nd one.

Fun Times

This week was very exciting for us because Beau cut his first tooth! It was one of his bottom teeth and it came through with a little fussiness and lack of appetite...but nothing as bad as I had imagined it might be. It is so funny when he tries to eat our fingers now because he actually bites us....the tooth may be little, but it is sharp!

Beau also has really started flipping over this week. He has been able to roll for a while, but was not too interested. I attributed this to Beau rolling off our couch when he was 5 weeks old (while Mom was sitting next to him) and getting rushed to Children's ER....he was fine, but I do not think that I will ever recover from it! Anyway, he is flipping from front to back and back to front all the time now. He just gives a big smile every time he flips himself over. What a cutie!

We were cleaning up in Beau's room the other day and I got out his activity gym....we were getting ready to put it in the attic because he was never too fond of it......Well, it is now his favorite thing to play in, besides the exersaucer. Here are a few pictures of him in his newborn gym....He is almost busting out of it!

His favorite move is to wrap his legs around the arc and try to do a flip

Feeding himself the bottle.....He has been doing this for a while, but it is so hard to get a picture of it!

Santa Party

Saturday night, our friends had a "Santa Party." We heard Santa's reindeer outside and then Santa came inside with gifts for all the girls and boys. Santa surprised Beau with a rattle and he loved it! Beau's bib said "I Love Santa," but it is hard to believe that from the way Beau stared Santa down!

Santa said Beau was a big boy and would be even heavier next year!
