Happy Thanksgiving!!

We had a busy Thanksgiving Day! We left our house at 9:30 am and didn't get home until 8:30 pm. We saw Rodney's family and my family and had a great day. Beau hung in there through all the car rides and going in and out to see different family. When we got home that night, I was holding Beau because he was a little over-tired and fussy and we looked at him sleeping so sweetly on my shoulder, and agreed that this was the best Thanksgiving ever!

This picture is extremely special because Beau got to meet Geneva for the first time. She worked for my grandparents , "Granny and Bo," for many years. Beau is named after my grandfather whose nickname was "Bo." This was the first Thanksgiving that my family celebrated without my grandmother, "Granny". Thanksgiving actually fell on her birthday this year, so it made it an extra-special day. Geneva has always been considered part of our family and we were so glad she could spend Thanksgiving with us.

This is a new facial expression that Beau learned....he looks like he is trying to chomp down on food or trying to talk.....either way it is funny!

Our friend, Tracie, came over to take pictures of Beau for our Christmas card. She did such a good job! Our son refuses to smile at a camera...He is not this serious all the time, but when a camera comes out his smiles turn into a super serious face. Here are a few pictures that she took....

Just Hanging Out

We have been having so much fun with Beau! He is getting bigger and bigger every day and is so fun to play with. He loves to play with all of his toys, but he is easily entertained with no toys. He likes looking at colorful shirts, looking at the trees chaning colors, and watching people. We took him to our friend Kyler's 2nd birthday party and he had such a good time hanging out in his stroller watching everyone. Of course, he still knows how to put on the show....when you smile at him, he flashes a big smile right back (most of the time!)

Beau has learned how to make a new noise.....a SQUEAL....it is sharp and loud! He does it and then smiles really big. I love it, but am hoping he learns how to make a new noise soon!

This picture just shows that when Beau is tired, he will fall asleep anywhere. He was in his crib watching his horse mobile, it is playing music and spinning and all the lights are on in his room, but he decided it was naptime, not playtime!

Baby Dedication

This past Sunday, we had a Baby Dedication at our church. Beau was dedicated to the Lord with many of his little friends. We are so fortunate to have great friends that had babies over the spring and summer months. Beau will have lots of little playmates to grow up with!

We were a little nervous about Beau's big day because the night before was the time change....where you get an extra hour of sleep. Well, Beau's internal clock did not register that he should get an extra hour of sleep, so instead of sleeping until 6:30, he was ready to go at 5:30. But, he adjusted to the new schedule very well and was ready to head to church. He loved looking at all of the people and being in the worship service with us. He and Mom both jumped when the music started though! Beau was the first baby to be introduced and Pastor Chris said that Beau didn't look like he had missed many meals....

It was such a great time and a special day for our family. Thank you to everyone who came and for those who could not come, but wanted to! We love you all.

Things Beau Loves

Beau loves to chew on things.....it doesn't matter if it is a bottle, a toy ring, a stuffed animal, paci, or his hand....Whatever we give him normally ends up going straight to his mouth. He is so sweet when he is chewing on something and he looks up and smiles at you. You can see his cheeks turn up and a smile form behind whatever he is chewing on.

Beau also loves to talk......all the time! He has learned how to squeal and he loves the sound that he can make! He loves to sit outside in the afternoon and talk to the trees and plants. He loves to talk to his toys and his friends and family.

Most of all Beau loves his Dad! (I know he loves Mom too.....)Beau loves to play with Dad in the morning and in the afternoon when Dad gets home from work. Dad normally gives Beau a bath at night, and Beau talks and plays and laughs. Dad gives Beau his nightime bottle and puts him to bed and prays for him. He nuzzles up to Dad and falls asleep while Dad is praying for him. He has a great Dad!
