Today was Beau's first Christmas.....to him it was pretty much like any other day. He loved seeing all the family and getting new presents too. Too us, this Christmas took on a whole new meaning. Having a child changes your perspective on so many things, one of them is understanding on a new level how much God loves us. There were many nights when Beau was a newborn when he woke up crying in the middle of the night. We would go and rock him and while we were doing that, I would look at a picture that was hanging up in our hallway of Jesus. It is a picture that Rodney gave me as his wedding gift to me....it is "Smiling Jesus" that a man in our church painted a few years ago. Looking at that picture always gives me comfort knowing that Jesus is right here with us and that the Lord is watching out over us. But, holding our son, looking at that picture, I could not imagine how much the Lord loved His son, but loved us even more to give up His son for us. This Christmas we are so thankful for our son, family, friends, church, and for our Savior.
Here are a few pics of Christmas morning......

Beau now has lots of new toys and clothes to play with. He also had his first taste of wrapping paper at Aunt Betsy's house. We were opening gifts and Rodney put his finger in Beau's mouth and pulled wrapping paper off the roof of his mouth. Yummy! Beau must have asked Santa for his 2 bottom teeth for Christmas because he had the first one and is currently working on the 2nd one.
