What a Big Boy!!

Eating off a big boy plate....how did he get so big? I remember this time last year he could not even hold his head up because he was only 12 weeks old. The time flies!!!

The Past Week

Well, the past week Beau and I have spent a lot of time together at the house. We have taken lots of walks and even a few car rides. I do not like being cooped up in the house all the time, so normally we have play dates with friends, but this week I realized that Beau had hand, foot, and mouth disease. It actually sounds worse that it really is. The little man had blisters on his hands, feet, and in and around his mouth. I noticed on Monday that he was not eating well, which is odd for him. We ate lunch with Rodney at Zoe's and Beau fed almost all his food to the pigeons. I thought he was just being silly. The pigeons then all swarmed to our table. They were everywhere! Anyway, on Wednesday, Beau's rash showed up and then it made sense why he had not been eating. The nurse said to give him ice cream, juice, popsicles, etc. So, Beau has been enjoying a popsicle at almost every meal since Wednesday. His rash is clearing up and today he actually ate a little turkey, so I am hoping he is on the way to recovery! Hopefully next week we will be able to visit our friends who had babies last week!

When I was cleaning Beau's room trying to get rid of the sick germs, I looked up and saw Beau climbing in his closet.

Shoes!

Beau loves to wear shoes! He loves to find shoes around the house and carry them around. He will bring a shoe to us and say "shoes." My Mom takes the credit for teaching him that word at the beach! On this day, he just woke up from a nap and is waiting on me to fix his snack. He saw my shoes on the floor and decided to try them on.

You The Man!

Rodney and Beau have this thing between them where they point at each other and smile. Whenever Beau points at Rodney, Rodney will point back at him and say "You The Man!" It is too cute!

The Lake

Saturday morning we headed to Smith Lake to celebrate my cousin Lisa and Aunt Betsy's birthdays. This was our first trip to the lake with Beau and we were not sure what he would think about the water. We put a life jacket on him and Rodney got in the water with him. Beau did not like the life jacket at all!! So, we got him out and Rodney put a life jacket on and we put Beau in his pool float in the water. He loved every minute of the rest of his time in the lake! There were TONS of kids there that gave Beau attention, so that made it even better. Several of the little girls wanted to play with Beau like he was one of their baby dolls....he did not enjoy that at all!

We also went to dinner this week to have a family birthday dinner for my cousin and aunt's birthdays. When Rodney first met me in the fall of 2004, at least once a month I told him I had a family birthday party to go to. I think he thought I was lying! We have at least one birthday party a month for someone in my extended family except for January, October, and March. Anyway, Beau loves big events because he can be the center of attention!
